This is about as close as you can get to a four-star rating without actually getting there. I loved how the narrative chugged along so efficiently. Lock In was a novel of clever ideas and snappy, if formulaic, dialogue, lots and lots of explanatory dialogue. The climax of the book happens in a revelation of gobbledygook exposition that frankly lost me as to the motivations of the main antagonist, but otherwise the world-building and technical execution of all these clever ideas was quite impress
