This was such a fun read. I love Veronica Speedwell, she is my kind of gal! As a friend mentioned, her character is well ahead of her times but that is probably what I like about her. Forthright, plain speaking and no-nonsense seems to suit her and as she knows no other way she sallies forth with her new companion Stoker to solve the mystery of her birth. Several revelations made and I am assuming a second book will be coming to make several more. Kind of hoping a deeper relationship evolves bet ...more
