I loved this book. Jacob Jankowski was a wondrfully portrayed character and the tribulations he faced during his life. Marlena is beautiful and creative. August is a man suffering from pschitzophrenia which well written about in the book. I ws intrigued by circus life in the 1930's/1940's.

Absolutely loved this book! Once I started I couldn't put it down. I ready it in less than 3 hours! The shifting back and forth in time and places is great, well done and added to the story. The narrator is amazingly sweet and makes you want to hug him. Really enjoyed the story and how the characters ended. ...more

Audiobook: Great book, fabulous narrator - I don't often read these sort of books but I really enjoyed this one. I found the 90-93 yo perspective in the nursing home quite thought provoking and at times, extremely amusing. I loved the final ending. ...more
