I am a glass case of emotions. I don't even know if I can review this properly now without sounding like some kind of emotional freak. I felt like my skin was inside out as I read this and when secrets were revealed and people reacted to said secrets. My nerves were shot by the time I finished it and I had trouble sleeping.

I realize these are fictional people but I just feel a connection with them for different reasons and thus, my emotions react accordingly when I feel like my happy little worl I am a glass case of emotions. I don't even know if I can review this properly now without sounding like some kind of emotional freak. I realize these are fictional people but I just feel a connection with them for different reasons and thus, my emotions react accordingly when I feel like my happy little world is put into a snow globe and shaken until everything just falls down. See? Emotional freak. I don't think I've felt this kind of a connection with any other characters, books or series, which is interesting to me. Maybe I'll get into that another time. (Wait, I lied. There was also Evenfall and The Outsiders for books that either changed my life or made a strong impression).

I don't recommend listening to Jeff Buckley and/or any depressing music while you read this. Honestly, I heard so many break-up songs as I read this, it only added to the anguish.

Not necessarily spoilers, but...

I understood where both Ty and Zane were coming from and I think it says a lot about the writing and the characters that I was able to empathize with each of them for what they did and why they did it. How Zane reacted to the secrets was painful and so hard to read but I get it, man. Being and feeling betrayed when you put your trust into someone so deep just sucks, to say the least. Lash out! When Ty made excuses for the secrets, I believed his reasons. He's been a machine programmed to take orders for so long and he felt like he did what made sense in his mind at the time. I felt like their reactions were realistic in their messiness. Love is messy and when you throw in secrets, well, anything goes when it all comes out. I have faith that they belong together and even though betrayal is hard to get over, this is fiction so somehow in my mind, I can see them moving forward, stronger.

I read this overnight. i wouldn't allow myself to sleep until I finished it.

5 stars for the emotions. Some of the NOLA plot stuff annoyed me. Ava can DIAF. She irritated the shit out of me. I don't really even want to get into the things that bugged me. I just came for the Ty & Zane...
