I have to admit the Inside Out Series is one of the best series I ever stumbled across. There was a banner in Goodreads way back when for If I Were You and it intrigued me. Now a year and a half later I’m still enthralled by this series! The way that Lisa Renee Jones wrote this series is pure genius! You have the full length novels then you have novellas that take you deeper into characters. My Hunger is no exception. The novels are in Sarah, the female lead’s POV but in My Hunger, we get Mark’s I have to admit the Inside Out Series is one of the best series I ever stumbled across. There was a banner in Goodreads way back when for If I Were You and it intrigued me. Now a year and a half later I’m still enthralled by this series! The way that Lisa Renee Jones wrote this series is pure genius! You have the full length novels then you have novellas that take you deeper into characters. My Hunger is no exception. The novels are in Sarah, the female lead’s POV but in My Hunger, we get Mark’s POV continued from The Master Undone. Mark is such a mystery in the full length books so I love these novellas were we get to see what makes him tick.

In The Master Undone, we know that Mark’s mother is ill and he meets the woman who is covering for her at Riptide while she’s out. Crystal Smith is nothing like the women Mark is used to. She is blonde where he prefers brunettes and she does not have a submissive bone in her body where Mark is all alpha dominate male and only has sex with a submissive after they have come to an agreement in a contract. He has total control and power. But when he is around Crystal, it seems to go out the window. They have this raw magnetism that he cannot resist. No matter how much he tries to resist it!

“I do not do spontaneous, out of control sex. I do planned Master and submissive encounters. I do contracts. I do it my way.”

When he returns to San Francisco from New York the police start questioning him regarding his relationship with Rebecca. Did their relationship go too far? Did Ana kill Rebecca because Mark ordered her to do it? These are the questions Ana’s attorneys are planting for reasonable doubt. His whole lifestyle is in jeopardy as the police learn about his club. His clients pay him well to keep their secret desires in the dark but with the murder investigation, everything he built is hanging on by a thread.

So I liked Mark Compton from the very beginning. I always had the feeling he was struggling in his world for control and hiding. Enter Crystal. She happens to not be the type of women he would go after. My Hunger takes us with Mark as he starts to spiral out of control. Another great novella by Lisa Renee Jones. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

My Hunger is Mark Compton's Novella that takes place while Sara and Chris are still in Paris. While the Novella's aren't absolutely necessary to read, I highly recommend that you read them as they do answer some of the questions that you might have and they do add to the series.

I don't want to give too much away to all the readers who are anxiously awaiting this book and if you're anything like me, you are anxiously awaiting for another glimpse into Mark's world. As I read through the series I ...more

I love getting to know more about Mark and seeing his Master come undone, literally by Crystal.
It's horrible that his mother is sick and I really hope for the best with that.
It's nice to know he had/has feelings for Rebecca.
Naturally I am sooo much more curious for MORE information on Mark and getting to the root of his demons and why he need to be a master and control all areas of his love life, well control all his life. ...more

Please read the Inside Out Series in it's reading order...if you aren't to My Hunger (Marks POV) then please start from the beginning! You won't be disappointed.

If you have not read the other stories in this series I encourage you to do so. You need the information from the other stories to understand this novella.

This is the next part of Crystal and Mark's story. You learn more about Mark and what he might face in the coming months. Mark is questioning everything about his life and what he wants. With Crystal in his thoughts should he pursue what he wants or remain alone as he feels he should be.
