Thats it. Thats freakin' it. I'm tired okay? I'm tired of trying to read this boring thing when all I really do is want to read something else. When I read Shadow & Bone , I was so hooked. So what the heck went wrong with this one?

Alina is stupid-ass, pathetic excuse for a female lead and constantly makes the worst decisions in every given situation. She is as boring as a lampshade . Though the whole thing is in third person, its almost always in Alina's head. Being in her head is like l DNF

Nyan Cat on loop for 10 freaking hours , except that you have be in Alina's head for longer.

Mal took uselessness to a whole new level. Dont get me wrong, I feel sorry for the dude. Having fallen in love with Alina , the guy is obviously a little stupid. Throughout the first few chapters, he was the playtoy for The Darkling. The Darkling will be all, "Hahaha! Go find me (Insert stupid mythological creature that probably doesn't exist) and I will not harm Alina." Then (somehow), Mal finds it and The Darkling will be all, "Muwahaha! I tricked you! I am going to act like the indecent person I am and put you in dungeons! I am so evil!"

The Darkling (as I had said in my Siege and Storm discussion page) is as ridiculous as his name. I mean, come freaking on ! His name is The Darkling! I wouldn't even be able take this guy seriously. I would probably be like, "WTF?! Is this guy for real?" The first few times I meet him. Almost a good 75% of things he does is stupid and why he does them is beyond me. He (apparently) wants to take over the Ravka, but people will die if he opens the whatever. Does he really want to rule over a land where the population is a little over 10? Is he really that desperate ?

Over all, I only got to about 40% of the book and I gave up. I admit, I have been DNF-ing a lot lately, but honestly, its not my fault (Okay, it kinda is). My patience level is really low nowadays and there are so many better books. I cant waste all my time with something I dont even want to read anymore. ...more

FINALLY!!! I can't believe it took me this long to finish it!!!!!

I actually liked it believe it or not.. it's just that I had a lot going on.

A lot of action and just .. character development ..

It's not something I can explain without spoilers, but difinetly enjoyed it.
