Ava Nash wakes up in a hospital and discovers two things: she has no memory of the last two years, and she’s married—to Eli King, the man she once hated. Yep. Amnesia. Marriage of convenience. Enemies-to-lovers. That’s just the beginning. From the hospital bedsheets to penthouse control, the dynamic between them is messy and jagged. Eli is equal parts terrifying and magnetic. He exerts control, demands “you are mine,” guards Ava’s space like a king guarding his castle. And yet, through it all, there are moments where his vulnerability—his fear, jealousy, twisted care—break through and hurt in the best way.

Ava? Whew. She’s loud, she’s conflicted, she’s beautiful and broken. Her mental health, addiction, obsession with perfection, the cello, the “party-Barbie” façade—all of it builds to this simmering tension that makes your chest hurt. You want her to find strength. You ache for her. When she fights her demons, you fight them with her. When she doubts, you want to smash through the walls holding her back.

Plot twists kept me guessing: what happened in the missing years? What deal was made, what promises broken, and who really held the power? And Eli’s secrets? Those reveal moments are brutal. When truths surface, they land hard. My heart leaped in betrayal, in longing, in anger, in love.

But yes, some parts rubbed me the wrong way. “Ava being a brat” is not an insult; it’s honestly an understatement. Her immaturity sometimes tips into frustration. And certain phrases—“you are mine,” “no one touches what’s mine”—they show possessiveness, which is a trope I love and loathe, depending on context. The beginning felt slow, too: a lot of setup, flashbacks, amnesia haze. If you’re impatient for heat or action, you might want to brew a coffee. Also, I wanted more of Eli’s internal suffering, more insight—he’s compelling, but some of his motivations stay too veiled for too long.

Still, the romance is electric. The chemistry between Ava and Eli hits at odd angles—fractured trust, fragile boundaries, power struggles—and somehow it still feels romantic. The emotional weight hits when you least expect it. Tears came. Anger came. Hope came.

By the end, I was devastated in all the right ways. This is a finale: endings, revelations, reconciliation, heartbreak, all woven together. God of War isn’t perfect—but it’s fierce. It’s flawed. It’s beautiful. It’s the kind of book that breaks you, then lets love stitch you back together again. I LOVE Ava but I expected a whole lot more from this it was mediocre at best. I can see what it was trying to give but it wasn’t giving. But still easy and fun to read.
