From the moment Mia Sokolov steps into Landon King’s orbit, I knew I was in trouble. Revenge, art, family legacies, and a mute heroine who refuses to be silenced—this one absolutely delivered.

Mia is not your typical damsel. She’s selective mute, which makes her moments of speech (and non-speech) all the more powerful. Seeing her navigating anger, trauma, strategy, and desire without voicing a lot of her pain was gut-wrenching and strangely beautiful. Then there’s Landon: arrogant, dark, intimidating, and yet… somehow he becomes more than his cruel edges. Watching him claw through his own mess of privilege, expectations, and cold artistry to reach Mia’s world was painful and healing all at once.

The banter between them? Sharp as a razor, electrifying as lightning. Their chemistry is messy, explosive, addictive. That moment when Landon learns to sign to her—just to bridge the gap—it made my heart squeeze. 🥺 And every scene that swings from cruelty to longing to confession had me flipping pages faster than I should’ve. The stakes are high because their pasts are dark, their secrets heavy, and trust is a tightrope.

But, yes, there are complaints, because perfection is overrated: sometimes the plot feels very R.K. formula—rich, antihero male, broken heroine, power games. After a few books in the Legacy of Gods, some tropes start blending together, and I found myself yawning at the “Elites vs Heathens” drama that shows up again and again. Also, there are scenes with some very explicit content—some lines that had me blinking, like “cum bucket” and the “beast” metaphors—those pushed comfort zones, and not always gently. If you’re squeamish about very blunt eroticism or dominance, this could hit too hard.

Still, despite the flaws, God of Ruin is the kind of book you can’t put down. It made me laugh, sigh, clutch my chest, and sometimes wince. Mia grows in ways that feel earned. Landon softens (in his own brutal way). Their relationship isn’t shiny—it’s tarnished, rough, but so, so magnetic.

At the end, I felt exhausted in the best way. When a book revives something in you—anger, desire, sympathy, hope—that’s when you know it’s done its job. This one did. If you want romance that’s not safe, that bruises before it breathes, that is loud and raw and doesn’t apologize—God of Ruin is absolutely going to be your kind of fire. 🔥 ...more
