Read this while on holiday with my brother and his family, bought back memories to him of his son at the age of 4, he's now 20. James thought the book was about a donkey called Oatie. Spent all the week telling them I was reading Donkey Oatie.
As for Don Quixote was reading it on the Norfolk broads so I got to do some tilting at windmills. Did feel the book was a bit too long.

I am over the moon to have finally finished this book. For a book that is so influential and important it is unbelievably boring. Long and boring. The main story of Don Quixote's adventures didn't interest me however there were a few of stories within the story that were good, although these were a minority. One good thing that I can take from reading this is that all my other books that I plan to read will shine in comparison! ...more

It's so familiar that reading it is like visiting the Lincoln Memorial; there is a feeling that prevents the wonder than should probably happen. I read book one; it did not disappoint but did not amaze. The second book is amazing. I have new friends. ...more
