i don't normally like alternate timeline stuff very much but the characters felt so different in each timeline that it was like reading three different stories and it was actually super engaging - i found the writing really beautiful and heartbreaking but i did also find that although cora's decision was the basis for each storyline, so much of the story felt like it was just the women in the story having to deal with all the repercussions of the men's poor decisions/actions (view spoiler)

Book club book 3
Almost didn’t continue as I was just so shocked by the opening chapters. However, I’m glad I did. This was genuinely such a fantastic book, I loved the story lines and the formatting. The sliding doors aspect was so cool and I really enjoyed how certain events made me think back to previous chapters/timelines. Would definitely recommend keeping in mind the themes could be seriously triggering for some people.

Moral of the story: no matter what decisions you make in life, you cannot under any circumstances have the perfect life. This should be obvious to me, but it isn't. I genuinely believe that I can make all the right decisions and have an optimised life (it's why I'm indecisive). But I can't - obviously. New goal - try and keep decisions neutral.
