Note: I had the version with the older story first.
I had a hard time getting into this one, especially since the first half is a bit heavy on the literary tricks, to the point of being hard to follow at times. George's simpler story of grief resonated with me a lot more, perhaps thanks to the slightly plainer style. ...more

A book that promises to deliver a) a unique high-concept of story telling and b) powerful emotions, great humor, and abundant joy. This book does both.
