I love this novel. I love a good take-down of English society and especially of a good take-down books about English society, so this caters to my tastes pretty well. I think the best thing I can say about this is that it was written in the 1930s, it's fairly obscure, and yet people still read it without being assigned it in class. Almost every central conflict in Victorian literature could be solved with a straightforward conversation.This book proves it in the best way.
