Memoirs are not usually my thing, but I've been reading Nicole Chung's work since her time with The Toast, and I have always found her prose clear and readable, and her topics interesting. This is an excellent book. Chung's prose doesn't disappoint, and I found myself as invested in her journey as I would be were I reading fiction: constantly hoping, "Oh, I hope this turns out well!"

An honest, clear-eyed look at adoption and racism, and the impacts of both on her her birth family and her adoptive family. I loved reading about the blended family she created for herself.
