I can confirm that these Asians are both rich and crazy.
Like any Plum Sykes, but set in Asia. So, blatant consumerism, throw in some modern comedy of manners. Just not my style anymore.

This book should've been 200 pages shorter. I was beaten over the head with how ruthless and materialistic these people were. I get it. He could've combined a few characters / sub-plots to achieve this. Most (all?) of the characters were two-dimensional, which actually didn't bother me too much since it was such a circus, but I didn't really connect with any of the characters as a result.
The descriptions of food were A+. The friendship between Nick and Colin was a nice break from the re ...more
