A truly charming book: I read it in one sitting and would be happy to see a sequel.
The book is primarily about court intrigue and politics and therefore very appealing to any who are interested in such (in a fantasy setting, of course). On the whole, it is delightful. The text eschews a more traditional plot-driven narrative in favor of a sort haphazard This Thing Is Happening And Now This Thing Is Happening manner, but within the context of the novel it works very well.
