I loved this, despite the kind of moralistic ending. At points I thought I wouldn't be able to get into the story - it reminded me of Neil Stephenson's Cryptonimicon, being similarly rambling, beset with tangents and flashbacks, and discussed some of the same topics, like codebreaking and Alan Turin - but it drew me in right at the beginning.
