I am absolutely sick. The build in the last few chapters could actually kill you if your heart was weak enough. I’m not sure what sorcery Ferrante possesses but I am enthralled and floored and I need a moment to recover myself.
It took me while to get into this one - the whole "childhood" section, while crucial for setting up what comes after, failed to grab me. But I read the second half in two days, and I loved following along as the relationship between Lila and Lenu keps shifting and transforming, both of them alternately jealous of the other and feeling superior to the other.

Interesting and evocative, but a challenging read at times both in subject matter and prose. Partially due to the translation? Might be interesting to consume in audio format, if well-narrated.
This book was objectively good, but I just didn't enjoy reading it, mainly because all the characters were so unpleasant. I don't really get the hype, I probably won't read the next one.
