It took me while to get into this one - the whole "childhood" section, while crucial for setting up what comes after, failed to grab me. But I read the second half in two days, and I loved following along as the relationship between Lila and Lenu keps shifting and transforming, both of them alternately jealous of the other and feeling superior to the other.

Read the entire novel yesterday on a cross-country flight, and all I have to say is that I loved it - an immersive, complex story. Desperate for the next one!
This book was objectively good, but I just didn't enjoy reading it, mainly because all the characters were so unpleasant. I don't really get the hype, I probably won't read the next one.
