This book is thoroughly timeless and location-less. I can't even believe it was written 60 years ago, because you don't get any hint of that. Which is what makes it so classic. It is thoroughly creepy.

I really wanted to like this book since so many people I usually agree with seem to freaking LOVE it but I just...didn't. I really don't get it, I feel like I must be missing something. What is it about this incredibly dull book where nothing happens that people enjoy so much!??? Someone please explain it to me.
