╰┈➤ This is the first Lynn Painter book that I’ve read and I will definitely be reading a lot more. From the writing style, to the banter, to the characters (the mmc in particular), Lynch Painter had me completely and utterly hooked. I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!!! This book was everything I expected and even more!! Liz Buxbaum, you are the exact same person as me!! It is such a good book with such good writing and plot. A total enemy to lovers trope that did NOT disappoint me. If you haven't read this book, run, don't walk, run and read it right now!!! I could not put it down and it probably took me a total of 6 hrs to read. I am honestly thinking about rereading it even though I finished it a mere 4 hours ago. Wes, you

Objectively good, I just didn't connect with the characters and found liz a tiny bit annoying...

“She’s not you.” “What??” “She. isn’t. you.”
I love Wes Bennett. This is definitely a feel good rom-com that pulls at your heart strings. You get moments of When Harry Met Sally and other iconic tropes that we all adore and love from our favorite movies. I do feel this is more geared to high school age, but it was sweet nonetheless. I think it’s cute to read such a pure romance book and be reminded of all the sweetness of young love.

OMG, if you haven’t read Better Than the Movies yet, are you even living?! Like, what are you doing with your life? This book is the definition of a rollercoaster of emotions—if that rollercoaster was on fire and took you straight into the middle of your biggest YA rom-com fantasy. I AM OBSESSED. 😍🔥
First of all, I swear, if you’re not swooning over Wes yet, what are you even doing? HE’S THE DREAMY BOY NEXT DOOR, LITERALLY. He’s hot, he’s funny, and he’s got that sweet boy vibe that’s just chef’s ...more

I really enjoyed reading this, and I loved the plot, characters and writing style. It wasn't too cheesy or dramatic, and I was actually rooting for Liz and Wes the whole time. I also have always loved enemies-to-lovers so I really liked it. I liked that there was character development and none of the characters were perfect, which was great. Also, I didn't know what I would think of it, but Liz's obsession with rom-coms really added to the story.
