I think I red a good book after a decade.
Check and Mate is an amazing story about Mallory, a NA, who has her recent years working hard to meet her family's needs. She has quit all the things she loved including her education and......chess!!!!! But then fate, destiny and all-the-things-Idk gives her a chance to bring back what she had lost, a chance to fill her dreams.
Nolan: He is the current #1 world chess champion (anything else about him is a spoiler).

negatives:

not because of the plot, in fact, i didn’t really expect to 100% like this book, (i’ll get into why later) but because of ali hazelwood’s writing style.

Deus. este livro é incrível. sinceramente, achei que não ia gostar muito, tinha ouvido dizer que o livro era um bocado chato, que não tinha muitooo romance mas sinceramente, foi super fofo. adorooo a Ali e os livros dela, descobri muitas coisas sobre xadrez neste livro e super recomendo.
