Morally Grey - with a capital G
Unhinged is exactly what the title promises - chaotic, emotional and just the right amount of morally grey (or in this case... Grey).
Avery is completely unhinged in the most captivating way. She’s impulsive, broken, bold, and absolutely feral at times and I couldn’t look away. Her inner voice is sharp and raw and she spirals through this twisted little web of violence, trauma, and lust like a woman on the edge (because she kind of is).

2025:
"Sometimes you need to cut ties with people… And sometimes those ties are arteries."
I didn't read anything about this book - I just dived on in and boy oh boy was it a wild ride!
My first thought about this book was that it was the ultimate love child of Navessa Allen's, Lights Out and Grace McGinty's, Inside the Maelstrom - in the very best of ways.
I was hooked from the opening line.
I was hanging on the edge most of the way through the story.
I absolutely cannot wait to see where this story ...more

A million stars for the audio production of this awesome book!
Lilydale is where some young people who did bad things end up instead of jail.
And when our FMC ends up here after committing accidental crimes she meets some morally pitch black inmates, ah, I mean STUDENTS. Yep, student.
Cue secret society and asylum level treatment and somehow history class is in there too so add a dash of academy and we have ourself book one of a compelling series.
Don’t start book one unless you have book 2 read ...more

Welcome to the Lilydale Foundation — the asylum where sinners pretend to be saints. Unhinged by Steph Macca is Book 1 in the Dance with My Demons series, and I devoured every page.
This book is short, dark, and twisted, with a morally grey reverse harem that had me hooked from page one. I did a KU + audiobook dual read, and the full cast (Marie Hawkins, Joe Arden, Corvin King, Anthony Palmini) made the entire experience criminally good.
The quotes? Iconic.

If I thought this book was great as a physical read, Macca and the BNA team totally had a "hold my beer" moment before offering this as an audiobook, because holy freaking hell, it's beyond epic as a full-cast duet narration.

An unexpected treat
This tasty little morsel will have you salivating for more.
With a face paced storyline, set in an asylum/school for young adults with sprinkles of humour, interesting characters and some tasty spice this makes for an exciting recipe.
I gobbled this up quickly and can’t to see the outcome for our “Little Killer” in book two.
