Burned by Fury took everything I loved from Haunted by Legacy and turned it up to eleven. Everleigh’s journey is raw, emotional, and relentlessly gripping, this book had me fully in my feels. The stakes are higher, the danger sharper, and the found-family moments even more powerful. Shay Laurent has created a lovely urban fantasy world. Being based in Sydney, Australia, is a bonus as that's my home.
The book is based around Everleigh Cole as the main female protagonist. She has recently joined an organisation that enforces the peace with supernaturals. During this time, she forms close relationships with different supas including a lovely slow burn with her partner Alaric.

It’s set in Sydney (yay for Aussie fantasy!), and follows Everleigh Cole—a badass half-angel, half-demon who just joined a supernatural peacekeeping squad. She’s snarky, fierce, and totally relatable, especially when she’s internally battling both sides of her DNA and awkward flirting with her new partner, Alaric. Speaking of Alaric… slow burn + hot werewolf = chef’s kiss.

"Bite him into submission."
The inner monologue of Everleigh's Angel and Demon brings such a unique vibe to the story and frankly, it is my favourite part. So many times, I found myself chuckling and wondering seriously about how she makes it through some days without constant distraction.
The continuation of this series was perfectly created from the lead up of the novella - the characters felt established and the work arrangement was already in place so didn't need too much focus. I loved t ...more

I absolutely loved this book. I was gripped and couldn’t put it down from the beginning.
This book had everything. Mystery suspense, romance. Even the LOL moments.
This story follows Ev an angel/demon hybrid on the quest to solve some murders. And mysteries, along with her super team. it is set in the human world.
I loved getting to know Ev as a character especially loved the banter and slow burn romance with her fellow supe colleague Alaric.
I am really looking forward to reading more from this ...more

This book had me at every page. The twists and turns will keep you wanting more and more, this slow burn will get you screaming at the two main characters but loving them at the same time.
Such a great plot line that always keeps you interested.

As with her last book, I was quickly drawn in and devoured it so quickly!! There was great character building over the book, and there were alot of unexpected plot twists! The ending was so amazing!!! I wish it didn't end though, can't wait for her next book!
