Compassionate review - I sympathize with Miaojin and I feel sorry that she felt such despair in sexual relationships. At least the format of the story is unique.
Less compassionate review - call the wambulance. This was a book club book otherwise I would’ve stopped after 30 pages. Everyone is unlikable. The writing is terrible, which may be chalked up to the translation.
