I feel like this book is not hyped enough.

It has got academic rivals, private school setting, true love, enemies to lovers, friendship goals, politics, the problems behind the curtain no one ever bothers to look behind. And still I have never once been recommended this book.

It had romance, banter, action, suspense, mystery, satire, comedy, it held me on the edge of my seat throughout the entirety of the book and I cannot recommend it enough.

I love Ann Liang books because they're romances but also coming-of-age with true character development. I love the unique supernatural element that's really a symbol for a greater story--how low-income students can feel erased, invisible when money automatically grants people so many advantages in life. I love the mouth-watering descriptions of Chinese food and culture--they feel like home. I love the angst and the yearning, even though I think it's silly that the female protagonists have grudge ...more

Had a good idea, but it wasn’t tied together tightly, and it was good, considering it’s her debut too. I love love and the romance in this was cute 💕. The supernatural wasn’t super explained at the end and that bothers me but it wasn’t only that, it was the rest of the story too. A lot of quoteworthy quotes. Cute and good, just nothing to obsess over.

what can i say i liked the writing style, the characters, everything
also a fun fact after alice became invisible and she started to question morality she also did a few things where everyone would’ve guessed it goes the wrong way

It was interesting in the beginning but towards the middle the plot felt repetitive and the characters were kinda flat?
All I knew about Alice is that she was poor, smart, barely has friends and is ready to help with the kidnapping of someone to get money..
Henry is very very smart, her rival and RICH.
I don't wanna sound mean, i loved the fast pacing and the IDEA but i would've loved to get to know the characters better.. ...more
