"Red blinked away a tear, smiling up at the wide open nothing of the sky. Time must move backward here in this in-between place, reversing, because the night was coming back, darkness reclaiming the sky, taking Red with it. But Mom stayed with her, right here in her hand, at the end of all things. Mom stayed, and so did the stars."

FUCKING HELL!! holly jackson knows her shit. she knows what she is doing. tears are still running down my face after finishing this story. they just wont stop.

"Five Survive" is THE popcorn read of thriller.
I'm sorry, why did the story lack so much and yet still ate it up?

• I really liked most of the characters, the MC felt quite complex for what it is too
• The plot twists were predictable, but they were still entertaining once uncovered
• The pace and progression was really good

My issue is the potential that the premise had, but it was wasted: 6 teens stuck somewhere and a sniper watching, only 5 survive.

WOW. This book is INSANE. It blew my mind, made my heart race with stress, gave me chills, left me stunned. It was absolutely captivating, heart-racing and pulse-pounding. Holly Jackson is a master at making you question everything, crafting terrifying situations that could absolutely happen in real life, twisting the morals of everyday people and making you question. I don't normally review books but i just had to for this - it was absolutely amazing!!! The plot was so gripping and immersive i couldn't put it down and when i did i just wanted to pick it up again! There are so many twists and turns and i did not expect to be sobbing through the last few pages! 100% would recommend ...more
