- This book is so fucking good, i mean it has everything i could ever want. Romance, comedy, morally grey hero, found family , good plot, banter. Like it is so well rounded i’m in love. and its so so cute, its unlike most fantasies and has a perfect balance between tension / seriousness and light hearted fun. its dark, twisty but funny and quirky at the same time.

- I think i might be in love with trystan , i highlighted so many quotes in this books its unreal. trystan is the perfect mmc in my opinion he’s funny, protective, thoughtful and at the same time he’s the *villain* of the story. i love evie sm too and her tendency to tackle everything head first. she is a sunsnine-y character but she’s so strong all the same. all the characters shine through which is where the found family comes in and there is so much banter and comedy with them too.

- Plot wise, maybe i’m stupid but i did not in any way whatsoever guess that her father was the spy , i wasn’t gasping either but it did get me excited to read the next page when this whole confrontation was happening. i don’t know how to feel about the ending yet might just be me but why does every fantasy book end with the hero getting kidnapped or something? well not *every* one but this happens so often why can’t they just stay put. the pacing of the plot was very good and evidently i finished it one day , i could not put it down, maybe thats because i loved the little moments happening with the villain and his assistant, maybe not.
