Especially considering all the clamour about this, I was heavily disappointed because it didn’t hit at all. This book is so freaken good. From the Taylor Swift references to the scene with cats. I love this classic and clean romance book so much. k.L. Walther is such a Gen Z author and I love that so the content is relatable. Enjoy my review.

I love the development of Meredith. I was a little hesitant with the trauma of her sister. I never like the sister died and distant kind of trauma, because it makes the character too much unrealistic. I love how she is trying to find her independence without her sister through new friends and new comfort with her cousins.

~ Wit (Stephen)
"Hey Stephen I know looks can be deceiving" ~ Meredith singing this in the shower. Wit is such a carefree character. I love his relationship with Michael since they are step Brothers. And I love the truce trope a lot. Wit is one of those characters who know a lot in life in a young age. But is still figuring out life as he goes on. Stephen is perfect for Meredith. He comforts her and cares for her so much. “Sarah talked about her for months before her visit,” Wit said quietly. He chuckled. “It was like Taylor Swift was coming to town.” I half smiled. Sarah was the most devoted of Swifties.”

~ Sarah
I don't like her at all. Like I am in Meredith's position in the family. Sarah loves Meredith but she loves Claire more. Like she invited Claire to be her bridesmaid and left Meredith out. And at one of there dinners when she brought up a memory of Claire before she died at dinner and aiming it to be funny I literally had a melt down. Sarah also gave Claire a fake id for Claire to drink. And right after that got into a big car accident that killed her. So overall I hate Sarah comment if you agree with me.

~Claire
Claire is mentioned in memories or flashbacks in the stories. From what I can tell Claire was the connecting of the whole family and was Sarah and Meredith's best friend. She is adventurous, daring, and brave. Claire loved her sister so much from what I can see in the book.

“I know you don't like hearing this,' I heard him say, 'and I know I promised not to tell you, but you are pretty, Killer. You're pretty beautiful, stunning, mesmerizing.' He paused. 'But that's not all you are. You're everything Claire said and more. Clever, funny, caring, lively, strong, brave---all of it. You are all of it.' He kissed the top of my head. 'And I do know how much you adore me,' he whispered. 'I just wish it was as much as I adore you.”

~ Wedding time
I love the cute wedding scene in the end of the book. I love how Meredith told Wit about Sarah's and Michael's music fandom.
“A Sheerio,” I replied. “For example, Sarah is a Swiftie because she’s part of the Taylor Swift fandom, so Michael’s a Sheerio because he loves Ed Sheeran.” ...more

I really liked the idea of the book, I just wish the characters hadn't fallen for each other instantly.

I bought this book because of booktok and had no idea what it was about just that the romance was cute

I loved Wit and Mer the chemistry was just *chefs kiss*

But I also really loved how this book was unconventional and more then just ur normal romance. The whole thing about Mer getting over Claire warmed my heart and made me want to cry at the same time

Also assassin sounds fun I wanna play lol
And that ending- Did she win or not don’tleave me hanging ah

I’m writing this review three months after I actually read it because I cannot stop thinking ab this book! I love it sm, one of the best I’ve ever read and it’s so cute, I def recommend reading. The chemistry and connection between Meredith and Wit is amazing !
