What Members Thought
This is the second of Shirley Jackson’s novels I’ve read and I’m both fascinated with her writing and also a bit “creeped out” by her fiction work. For the genre, I believe she is better than Stephen King and I wonder if he might have been influenced by her since her work is earlier. There’s far less gore and the creepiness is far more cerebral/psychological which I tend to like. There were a few tiny holes in the narrative but overall the story was entertaining and intriguing.
