I read this time for the first time two years ago, and I remembered I didn't like it as much as her other books, but I think it was because I wasn't as into sci-fi a I am now. I do like it, and I'm about to start the sequel, but I love Malinda Lo.

Conceptually, it's a bit stale, but it's quite well-written as well. The pace was perfect, and it was gripping to the point of being hard to put down. Most LGBTQ YA fiction sucks (as much as I hate to say that, it's true), but Malinda Lo's books are an exception. ...more
