Two things were constant for me while reading this book.

A smile on my face and thought which consistently said "Poor Guy"

"Poor Guy" who was continuously referred to as "Good Girl"

A middle-aged down on luck guy who has been downsized by his company. He is not a loser but is just having a bad time. Finds himself lonely in "Women's world" taken for a ride by his wife and his superiors in office. But didn't I mention he is being downsized? So has to go through a "lot" to get a new job in a company

I feel a bit guilty saying that I didn't enjoy the book as it was a decent story, but I just think Peter's torment was a bit too sustained. It seemed like everyone had the aim of changing him and there was no real hope of finding a way out. For this level of treatment I think he needs to have done something to deserve it rather than just being a man in search of a job. ...more

A fabulous story about a guy forced through circumstances to apply for a job at a company that sells female clothes and accessories. He is offered the position, one that he desperately needs, on the condition that he wears only their products. His attempts to wear fairly neutral attire are rapidly scuppered by his new boss, who seems to delight in humiliating him. His wife also seems very determined for him to stay working there, even helping him to choose ever more slutty outfits for him.
