My YW president gave us a chart to fill out for reading the book of mormon. She said we don't have to read a certain number of pages everyday, just as long as we read every day, we can mark off a box on the chart. At the end of the year, whoever has read as many or more days than she has can come to an ice cream party. Then they split the ward, and she's in the other ward. I really did read this, but I don't speak Welsh. I followed along in the Welsh book while I listened to it in English. It makes for quite the foreign language study, although I do admit that Welsh was the least successful language I've done it with (seeing as I didn't know how to pronounce Welsh, and it looked rather foreign). The Book of Mormon contains the words of actual prophets of God. You can feel the power and strength this book brings into your life. The Book of Mormon stands beside the Bible in testifying of Christ. This book is proof that God speaks to us through living prophets today.
