This is a wonderful addition to Stephanie Garber’s whimsical world created in the Caraval series. Expanding the universe and taking us on a magical and mystical journey, this was a lovely read. I really enjoyed following Evangeline, she is a bit of a naive main character but still strong willed and interesting to follow. I loved hopping back into this world after reading the Caraval series. It was enjoyable to read about Jack and Evangeline in this book. I don't know why, but I never liked Jacks in the Caraval series, but now that he is a main character in this series, you get to see Jacks in a different light. I loved the character of Evangeline and how she develops during this book. The connection between Jack and Evangeline is so interesting to read.
