I cried sooooo muchhhh at the end, it was beautiful but depressing at the same time, I was shocked by the ending, it broke my heart.

I have waited a long ass time for this book to come out. I LOVED Powerless, and couldn't wait to see more of the characters. Lauren Roberts has clearly been growing as an author, but this book was still not perfect. I tried to lower my expectations when I started reading this book, but the typos are something I couldn't really get over. Somehow, I feel like Powerful was overall a better book than this.

Damn this was so good. The banter, the flirting, the plot twists. I know some people thought nothing happened in this book, but I disagree. This book focuses on the relationship between Kai and Pae. Their struggles with their feelings for each other and figuring out what they are to each other rather than what they should be.
Also learning and coming to terms with some hard truths. This was not a plot heavy book, but a rich character journey. I wholeheartedly enjoyed every moment of it.

This book was such a major improvement from the first one in terms of the writing style and the world building but I do think it struggled with pacing and some story elements.

The beginning and ending were amazing, especially the ending. I instantly saw the improvements in the story telling from just the prologue and found myself less bored. However, I think the middle portion just kept dragging on and on and was incredible repetitive.

Nope.
Approximately 200 pages of this book was rinse and repeat shit. I got so fucking bored of this book but I made myself a promise to finish it. So I sat and read the thing in 1 day, absolute torture.
The only reason why this book gets 2 stars from me is because of the ending. I wasn't expecting it so it made me want to torture myself a little more and read book 3 when it comes out. ...more
