What Members Thought
A fast paced, adventurous middle grade story where Percy finds out he is a demigod. While on his quest, he finds out more about himself and who he can trust for friends, an important lesson for all at this age and any age. I look forward to moving forward in Percy Jackson's series and going on more quests.

Interesting introduction to the Percy Jackson universe. Chock-full of Greek mythological references, which shouldn't be a surprise, but it seems like many of them would go over the head of the target audience? Which would then take a lot of fun out of the book.
I'd recommend for the average young adult reader, as long as they have a passing acquaintance with the more popular Greek myths and characters. (Think Hades, Persephone, Hermes, Ares) ...more

My daughter will give it a 5. A must read for a 10 year old!
Fun story! I love stories with mythology and this did not disappoint.
I have seen the movie -- ages ago. I thought since the movies were being continued, I'd check out the books. I'll definitely keep reading more! The next is already on hold at the Library. ...more
