I absolutely adored this book! I was completely captivated by the characters. Yes, it was really sad - as a frank and realistic book about cancer is want to be. Still, I love what the characters think about and how they view the world. The audio for this book was wonderfully done as well - catching all the inflections and emotional subtext of the conversations.
Cancer sucks. I pushed this book off for a bit trying to gear up to read about young people struggling in their daily lives and trying to feel as normal as possible with the ominous diagnosis threaded into their life fabric. At some point normal becomes relative.
Hazel and Augustus find a common thread outside their cancer. A book none the less. This book takes them on a new adventure where they can even if temporarily, escape the vice grip that this life has on them.
