I gave us the first one after (view spoiler), though this one made me want to continue reading mainly due to the H, I just don't like it like the others.

Main problem is the h, she has to be my least fav KA h, v whinny and needy to me not to mention really she is such a slut (her words and I wholeheartedly agreed with her). I understand she's lost her man and she hasn't been by herself since being a teenager, I guess not being in her shoes and am a pretty independent person in general, her need to grab onto any guy and every guy that comes along just grinds on my nerves, a lot. At first it's ok, as the OM is a better bet in my books too, but after it's clear she clearly has unfinished business with the H, it's just so not cool (view spoiler) Got one to wonder what her attraction is, she seems so high strung and some of the times, I don't even know what her problem is blowing up at whatever she's blowing up at without much sense and logic, and up till the very end, I still cannot see it to be frank, though she has the signature KA sweet and soft h trademark, she doesn't seem to have anything else besides being a mother (and frankly besides lavishing a lot of love on her kids, her behaviour doesn't impress me at all...)I guess KA wants to tell us women are illogical like that, again, being a pretty sensible and practical female all my life, I appreciate some drama queen action, but not bothering on bitchiness for no good reason scenes.

The H was initially a jerk, though we can forgive him as we get to read his POV and learnt why he behaved thus, but once he'd decided to turn, boy, he's just the typical alpha male yummy dude KA is so good at delivering. I adore his interaction with the kids and his parenting techniques. Also love how he is so frank and straightforward in his dealings.

I was a bit disconcerted to find so many pages to the book, but haven't read a KA in a while, I just thought I might have only found this one a bit long since it's been a while (though I read in other reviews that this is indeed a very long book even for her). I agree a heavy hand in editing will make the book better, as it took forever to get them and also the plot to move forward. There really isn't any need to recount so many days by the hour, though I do enjoy those but after a while, I want to know what happened to the plot. Also, seriously, I never understand this, what's the point of introducing the OM and his being way sweet and all in super fine details (even spending pages upon pages on his house and background) in a book that's not about him at all? I can do without that part...this reminds me a bit of Mystery man, but I like that book's h way better in that she didn't really sleep with both men at the same time so to speak.

There are a lot of characters in the family, and I see some potential new books coming along based on those characters, but again, it's just too much, took away the focus of the book. The plot thing took a long while to build up then it disappeared altogether, then we get introduced to all these people stepping in to help and the climax is really pretty short and easy (I expected more given the whole buildup and considering how many lives were taken, I expect it to be a lot more scary and dangerous than how it was).

All in all it's just ok, the stars are really mainly for the H, who is really dream man material, and the kids. Other than that, don't really like it much... ...more
