A meteor hits and suddenly all hidden DNA is revealed to what mythological creature you are or if you have magic. Have I gotten it right?

This story would've probably worked better as a contemporary romance. The world building was vague and confusing, it felt like 700 pages of Nina having random interactions with magical beings. Long, drawn out internal monologues, repetitions and one dimensional characters. The MC's were in their early 30's & 40's but this read like NA/YA fan-fic. ...more

Nina Popoca & Henri Blackrock

I'm always up for reading a new take on paranormal life and I really like how this one was steeped in myths and folklore from around the world.

I really love how much Nina loved the people that she cared about and the underlying family theme that ran throughout this novel.
