I had trouble getting into this at first, it’s hard to figure out what’s going on. But at 20% it picked up for me and I ended up loving it. On to read second book next.

I'm not usually big on games and trials tropes, but while it took a minute, the story eventually drew me in. The trials in this book were brutal. It's crazy how much someone has to risk everything for a chance at the prize. I felt that the plot and romance were pretty well balanced.
