I want to give this 5 stars but it’s not quite a 5 start read for me the beginning was interesting to me and the world building was promising but it got lost somewhere towards the end. It felt rushed I mean it’s war I guess but I totally forgot about the god and goddess war for a while and then the ending was a bit sloppy and frustrating. It felt like it missed the poetic nature and beauty from the beginning of the book.

I bought this book on a whim because the cover was so pretty, but I just knew that I would like it. I was instantly hooked on the story and the characters. I believe Iris and Roman are relatable, and I liked how they faced what came their way.

This story is set in a fantasy world that is loosely based on the UK. I believe that Oath is London, but I could be wrong. The time period is loosely based on WW1 and in 1917, but the war in this book is between two gods, Enva and Dacre, and not between cou
