Well, that was a fun reread. Cash says the f word a lot and Abby is an idiot. Looking at my original review, I was a bit annoyed by a certain thing, but it didn't bother me much this time. I enjoyed this story and I like the characters. I think I'll continue with a reread of this series. Slowly. Happy reading!

It is odd, I didn't think much of this series as I associate KA mostly with contemporaries, so this series has been in my TBR pile for ever. Yet I probably am doing to devour this based on how good this book is. Initially I had a few false start with this one based on the first meeting scene, I really hate the H and didn't think I can like it with such an odd h, but in the end, it gets better and better and I just couldn't put it down.

I didn't like the H initially, he's pretty conceited in my bo It is odd, I didn't think much of this series as I associate KA mostly with contemporaries, so this series has been in my TBR pile for ever. Yet I probably am doing to devour this based on how good this book is. Initially I had a few false start with this one based on the first meeting scene, I really hate the H and didn't think I can like it with such an odd h, but in the end, it gets better and better and I just couldn't put it down.

I didn't like the H initially, he's pretty conceited in my book and he more or less seems to have a v low opinion of women. Yet as the story goes on, you see him really did try to get to know the h and figured out early on things are not as it seems. He became pretty protective of h and looked out for her more or less v early on and he ended up being a great H that definitely deserves his hea.

Our h is a bit more complicated. Due to her unfortunate circumstance, she just wouldn't let go of the past and we see her doing everything she can to keep a hold on it. Must say she isn't my favorite type of h as she isn't portrayed in a good light. She's v into the good quality of life, yet with her qualifications, she didn't bother to do something about it (ok H also likes that but it's pretty against my idea of a modern day gal) and content to be a kept woman doing more or less nothing all day. Coupled that with bad money concept it's a pretty bad combination. I also didn't like that her thoughts sometimes seem mean, like her not wanting to interact with her neighbours. While I sympathise her circumstance, she seems to be pretty helpless in general and just couldn't manage without her friends or the H, in fact the friendship is so onesided she ended up being pretty self absorbed and to top it off, she also was keeping things from said friend knowing she really is doing something that's setting herself up for more heartbreak. As the story progresses though, I ended up seeing her point and why she wants to make the most in the moment, though I really would prefer her making more of stand first.

The whole book really worked for me because of its stella supporting cast. I so would love to have a friend that's so steadfast and dependable she's virtually dropping everything to see you through. Also love love love our old lady with such a big heart and lonely existence yet such pride to admit to it and did her best to take care in her own way a good friend's relatives. We also have the H's side of the family actually being more than they seem. In the end, these characterisations are so well done I really had a great time reading this one, despite a slightly weak h in my opinion. The storyarc itself is also engaging, nail bitingly exciting and with such a grand finale at the end, I totally love this one.
