4.5⭐

I really enjoyed this one! The characters, the era (1950-1960s), women's roles, even all that the chemistry (LOL). Maybe not your usual romance but such a rich story. A very insightful author.

Oh, the paths that other women have forged for us...

This book was different. The romance took a backseat in this book but I didn’t mind at all. There was quite a bit of far fetched circumstances in this, and I could see some people not loving this book. It’s filled with triggers too. But overall this author nailed what life was like for an intelligent woman trying to work in the 50’s and 60’s

Lessons in chemistry

Five star

I have a confession. I judge books by their cover. Not people just books.

Hi almost did not read lessons in chemistry because of the cover. I assumed it was yet another cutesy romance, which I don’t like.

Boy was I wrong.

This is in competition for my best book of the year.

Elizabeth Zott is a young chemist in the 1950s. She is anomaly in the lab as a female. Also because she does not accept a woman’s place as predetermined. She continues to buck against the system

Loved this story! As a woman of science myself, I found it fascinating and an accurate depiction of biases against women in many technical fields. The awkward love story was charming.
