I've read some really poor reviews of this book and it makes me wonder -- why? Are these women who never did anything that defied the patriarchy? Do they live in a utopia where there is no patriarchy?
I loved this book. It made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me angry. In other words, it made me feel. I'm not a scientist, but one scientist who did read this book wrote in her review that reading this book was traumatizing. Why? Because things like this did happen to her, I imagine.

Elizabeth & Mad Zott, Calvin Evans, Six-Thirty, Harriet Sloane & Walter Pine
I ended up having a love/hate relationship with this book. Love/Hate are both such strong words, but I had actually dnf'd this book, because it wasn't appealing to me initially. I only picked it back up because it fit a task for a challenge I was doing.
I wasn't sure if my dislike was for Elizabeth or just everyone else. I did want her to show more backbone in certain situations, but by the end I realized I did like her. ...more
