Re-Read, 2024
Seeing that there was a secret second book release, I figured, without any wavering whatsoever, I needed a refresh first. I mean really. This book is still a favorite and still one that I think of fondly.
No hardship reading it again for sure.
I enjoyed it just as much this go round and now cannot wait to start the next book!

"The Plight" quickly propelled itself to the very top of my holiday reads. Pure enjoyment and a perfect example of 419 pages of well-written dialogue, sweet, funny, fast-paced plotting and never boring or slow. The true spirit of the Christmas season bursting forth on each page filled with love, laughter & happy ever after – but not without some ups and downs!
Truly, you don't want to miss this extraordinary gift from author Kate Stewart!

Wow! This book is Amazing! I really wasn’t sure what to expect because Kate Stewart is capable of writing anything and doing it well. The Plight Before Christmas is hilarious! I laughed so much from the very beginning. And while I laughed often, there were several times that the story was emotional. Whitney has gone home to spend Christmas with her family. She’s had a series of bad luck and is feeling pretty down. Her bad luck seems to get worse when her bother, Brendan, brings a work friend hom

good story, bad baby talk
I really did like the storyline, but I had to take a star off for the baby/toddler talk. It’s the kind of thing where it feels like the author has never been around a toddler before but tries to write about. Otherwise, it was a heart warming story and shows the amazing bonds of family, even when there’s tensions and lows. Great book if you’re looking for a storyline with characters in their late 30s.

3.75 stars
Well written for the most part and some very funny as well as heart felt moments. However, there were other scenes that seemed to drag on and I found myself wanting the book to go by faster.
The narrator’s were pretty good, although a little over dramatic at times. Maybe that’s just me, maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for this particular book.
I would consider reading more books by this author.
