I know, I think I am the odd man out with this one. I read to 49% and I think I am putting it on the "go back to later' shelf. I know it's just me being moody, but I just could get into the story and the characters were just "meh".
I loved the author's previous series, Big Bad Wolf, but this one may be a pass.

I have wanted Eli’s story since the moment we met him. So we have Eli working on getting the haven ready to take in the rebel runaways to help them heal and then move on to a better life. Julien is in town trying to find out what truly happened to his brother who was there looking for the monster in the woods. I loved that we had dual POV! The Big Bad Wolf series is one of my favorites and this follow up series (centered around prickly Eli, one of the side characters in The Big Bad Wolf) shows Adhara's talent at creating compelling characters. I know some other reviewers weren't wild about Julien, but I found him interesting. The romance is definitely a slow burn, which I happen to appreciate.
Loved the ski-resort setting and the blizzard gave Pack of Lies a locked room atmosphere, which I enjoyed.
