This one definitely took me by surprise. I have read this author’s other fantasy series, Soulbound, and loved it. So when I started reading this one, I was so lost. All the world building for the first quarter of the book had me wondering what the hell was going on. Thank goodness, the other ladies in the buddy read helped me out.

DNF. It really saddens me that I am unable to finish a book that is by one of my favorite authors. There were too many characters & I couldn't keep track who was who & how they fit in the scheme of things. I just couldn't get into it.

RTC but I really enjoyed this one. I absolutely adored the concept of this book and all of the plot points it introduced. I was just so lost in this book and the universe it's set it and I had the best of time reading this one. This book was just pure fun for me and I really love reading it. I don't normally read longer books because I don't have a very good attention spawn, but I was so engaged in this book that it never felt like it was almost 700 pages, I was just vibing along and really enjo ...more
