3 1/2 "To Tell the Truth!"
Well... somewhat unpopular opinion alert...
I didn't not like this book, but I didn't like this book as much as a whole bunch, mostly everyone else did. To sum it it, both these characters took way too long to tell their personal truths. The catalyst for the fake dating was weak in my opinion. You should be able to tell your very best friend all the things! Especially this thing. I get it could be awkward at first, but this is your "person". Also, these are 26 year old a ...more

Ugh I didn’t love this book. I saw so many people saying it was one of their favs for 2021. I give it 3.75 stars. Loved the narrator for the audible. I didn’t love how it was written in a 3rd person POV. There was also a lot of internal dialogue from each of the characters which created a lot of rambling that was hard to tell if it was a conversation or internal dialogue. Clearly it was just me who had that issue with the book because most people loved it.

I absolutely adored this book.
I related to Olive in so many ways. I’m not in graduate school yet, but being a woman in STEM in undergrad is no walk in the park either. On this front, I felt like I was going to be attacked and I was from the very first page.
Olive has some insane inner spirals, but in a good and funny way. I think it made her all the more relatable. I also really loved her friends and their relationships. Their banter throughout the book was so comical. The book was hilarious and ...more

Fake dating might be my favourite trope in romcoms, and I can usually suspend my disbelief to overlook (or even enjoy) ridiculous shenanigans while reading/watching one. But this one was a bummer. I went in fully expecting it to be dumb fun because it sounds very Wattpad-coded, but instead of being entertained, I was annoyed by almost everything, starting with the extremely convoluted reason the female lead kisses a faculty member at her university on a whim (read: without consent) and decides t

After over a decade of never really getting the appeal of contemporary romances, 2022 seems to be the year of finally finding ones I like. This was the third I've liked and I need more like this. Freaking adorable, I read at least half of it in one sitting. So this was more of a 4.5 but I rounded up.
It's wasn't really anything revolutionary, it even calls it self out for how it's story echos a rom-com. But it was all well done. the angst didn't get out of hand, it was humorous, and clever. The s ...more
