Guys, this moved me. M-O-V-E-D me.

This is going down as a favorite of the year.

The intrigue, the suspense, the friendship, loyalty and shit, the love.

I never wanted this to end but couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

My God did I need a book like this, And now, I need ten more.

So good.

This was GOLD! When I started reading Enemies of the State (The Executive Office #1) by Tal Bauer I wasn't sure what to expect, the blurb promised a suspense filled gay romance but I wasn't sure that this could combine in such a delicious way to give forth the most awesome book I have read this year.

It had everything I want in a book.
It had forbidden romance, a secret service agent assigned to the president falling in love with his protectee despite the rules against it.
It had the angst, Ethan was unsure of the president's feelings, is he flirting w

This book is SO GOOD!!! This book is EVERYTHING!!!
It is pure political perfection.
Incredible story with twists and turns you don't see coming. A forbidden romance between Jack - President of the United States, and his Secret Service senior agent in charge, Ethan. Both GFY and virgin sex, with an incredible slow build. Fantastic supporting characters that round out the story. Action, adventure, romance...honestly, reading this book is like watching a really good movie!
Highly highly recommend!

I've come to the conclussion that books featuring politics are probably just not for me. I didn't hate the characters, but they were a tiny bit too lovey-dovey for me at times and their relationship seemed to develop really quickly from "We can't be friends or even hang out" to "I love you and I will die for you".

This is one of those situations where I have an unpopular opinion as it seems like most people really enjoyed this series. But for me, it was just alright.

Things got more action-filled

This was really good. Not sure what took me so long to get started on this series. I love alternating POV & am glad that the author decided to change it from just Ethan to Jacks as well. Ethan is Jack's lead secret service detailer & their first rule is that they don't get close to their protectees. But Ethan can't help himself, he is drawn to Jack. Jack is a widower, his wife having died while deployed. So he is all alone in the White House. I enjoyed watching these two become friends & just wo ...more

I hand-waved a lot of the political thriller stuff, just like I did with the Gerard Butler movie, "Olympus Has Fallen" because it was ridiculous. (So speaks someone who worked with the Secret Service while I was in the military). Just like that movie, this book was non-realistic crack, but still fun (hello Gerard Butler), even if I rolled my eyes at some of the plot holes!

Now, the first half of the book dragged, but it picked up by the end. Best feature? The main characters are both ov
