I'm certainly in the minority on the latest from Penelope Ward, but this one just fell flat for me. It didn't seem to have the spark and dazzle of so many of Ward's previous books. The dialogue was stiff in the flow -- not the norm sizzling vibes I usually find with most of her other books. No, I didn't hate it, but I was far from in love with it.

I really liked both MC's especially Caleb. BUT for whatever reason this book wasn't one of my favorites from Penelope Ward. I usually love her stories but, to me, it was kinda slow.
Don't let me sway you away from it though! I think this is a case of "it's not you, it's me". At least, all the high ratings are telling me that. Oh well... ...more
