First half of the book: 4 stars
Second half of the book:2.5-3 stars

I really enjoy a marriage of convenience story, add in a dash of enemies to lovers and a pinch of slow burn romance and it’s my kryptonite. I was really looking forward to reading this story as I have really enjoyed some of PD's other books and this one had received so many 4 & 5 star reviews. It could have been a case of me and not the book, but I really didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped.

Brilliantly done with a dual POV and I really, really liked this one.

I CRIED. ON THE TRAM. ALOT. Nuff said right? That says everything but I shall elaborate.

Sydney Evans is not what everyone thinks she is. She has earned her position as lead council the hard way and her mentor is the one she now needs to help. But it will come with a price and yet she does it anyway.

Um casamento de conveniência entre duas pessoas que só se viram uma vez mas que a primeira impressão não foi lá muito abonatória.
O elo de ligação entre este pedido de casamento é o pai de Scott Blackstone e patrão de Sydney Evans. O objectivo será que ela fiquei com a posição de CEO na empresa e o filho possa ter direito a tudo o que pertencia ao pai, mas se Sydney sabe a verdadeira razão do patrão estar a fazer isto, Scott não faz a mínima ideia, mas não quer ser ele 4 ' hopeful rainbows' Stars

Daí fazer-lhe a vida negra e arranjar tudo e mais alguma coisa para enviar a rapariga de volta para Manhattan, durante uns tempos ela aguenta tudo o que ele lhe vai fazendo, mas quando chega ao momento da verdade, Sydney percebe que largou tudo em vão, e que a vida de rancho que se tinha acostumado no Wyoming, é tudo uma mentira e desilusão.
Será que Scott consegue perceber a gravidade das suas palavras e acções? E será que consegue voltar novamente a Manhattan?

Adorei cada momento, os jogos do Scott, a determinação da Sydney. Ele foi um bocadinho rebuscado e mau em certos momentos, mas não me fizeram desgostar da história.
Iniciaram como inimigos, depois como amigos e então como namorados, tudo isto já compactuado com o casamento de conveniência. Apesar do passado de cada um, Scott fazia de tudo para que não falassem do assunto, mas a verdade vem sempre ao de cima, e só quando realiza os erros que cometeu, é que se apercebe que aquilo que mais desejava esteve aquele tempo todo mesmo ali à sua frente.

Se nunca tinha lido nada desta autora, fiquei com a pulga atrás da orelha para ler mais. Aprovado!

One of the most important aspects of the art of negotiating a deal is something which, in my opinion, can’t be taught. Something that operates on instinct but can be improved upon with effort.
